Hi fellas, I hope you're all aware that I started a new site at the urging of, believe it or not my wife and my son to do a blog. Have you visited yet? I'm not seeing any comments so far, but naturally would love to have you all be a part of it. What topics do you want to discuss? Let me know and I'll try to put something together.

Site is www.cowboysroundup.com and we have a twitter feed, Facebook too. Not that I know how to use them all yet. My son has to give me a tutorial on everything until it actually is absorbed in the upper recesses of the old brain.

Come over and lets roll with it. At some point I'll probably do videos giving a take on things, etc. My intention is not to end this group but to kick things up with the ability of my son who's a graphic designer and he can handle the website stuff pretty easily for me, at this time. Perhaps if things progress he may kick it up a whole nother level, yet somewhat costly. Love to have you all be a part of it and I don't want to lose the thoughts and opinions that you all bring. Beauty of sports is everyone sees a different angle and we should always be open to see something we didn't grab onto ourselves!

I'm not a facebook member. I'll have to set up a Disqus account, then I'll comment.

MRICH, you can read the story's/takes at any time on the website. But yeah, my son set it up that way for Facebook or Disqus. Don't know why he doesn't have twitter there? I never did Facebook myself, so he's going to have to show me that one. Tells me it has the ability to attract more people into the mix. He knows more than I do! Look forward to your getting in on the fun! Hope to see you there soon ...... To you guys I'll always be Caddy. That was to give my job description for my being a caddy to my boys, Bobby & Peter when they played junior golf, thus Caddy4BP. Now y'all know the history.

Good one! No it was a family thing with my boys and myself. I was definitely their caddy. Who cleaned their clubs, prepped their yardage books, marked their golf balls and carried the bags in permissible tournaments? None other than Caddy4BP! There ya have it ......

Thanks for jumping in the new website!

LOL. I never got into golf. I was always more of a bowler. Some things are more expensive (and less available) when you're left-handed.

It's why I learned to play guitar right handed. Very Happy

Ok, MRICH bowling! I turned pro when I was around 27-28. Good not great, but had good times competing in pro tournaments. More regional tournaments then tour level. Got my two cashes in regionals, so I did try to rabbit into the Windsor Locks & a Long Island event. Didn't sniff the number. But the Tour level, that's a whole nother animal. Facing that oil pattern was totally different than anything I'd ever seen. Pro's at that level adjust in 3-5 practice throws, something I couldn't do.

As a lefty they could and would shut them down or control them with a special pattern on the left side. They used a ring of oil on the back end, to reduce the power of the ball's entry to the pocket. Made it flatten out causing weak 7's. One of my teammates thru the years, this young man was an incredible power type guy. Back in the day, we use to say he had a "wrist", but when he got to Windsor Locks with me that day, he couldn't get rid of the 7 pin. I was paired with Parker Bohn and he had the same trouble. He paid his dues and they eventually let him cross behind other top lefties, like Mike Aulby and got the better lefty patterns over time. Funny, but my friend use to dominate Parker in juniors, but didn't have the patience to wait his turn. Left with the same pattern, lefties couldn't be beat by the righties! Just a fact ......

Bowled up to 5 leagues and monthly tournaments up until the time my son was born. Stopped cold and never really bowled again. Itch is still there, but the body says no stinkin way!

I always thought the patterns had to be consistent (i.e. mirror image), and just that the right side broke down quicker because more people are right handed.

I've never bowled on the pro patterns, but I'd like to. I think it'd be fun. I'm having a bit of an equipment problem right now (span issue on my ball), but I went today and shot a 212 my last game on a house pattern. I had to play an "outside in" line. I'm left handed, too, so today for my strike I had to move 8 boards left of center, and target around board 8 at the arrows. Something like that. I hit a 4-bagger in the mid frames.

The most difficult pattern by far that I've seen is, I believe, the "open" pattern, where it's a higher number of units of oil, and it's the same amount on all the boards, all the way across the lane. You have to play deep inside on that pattern.

The guys on TV make it look really easy.

PM me if you'd like to talk more about bowling. I wouldn't mind. I found a forum I go to from time to time.

Hey guys, its been awhile and only MRich stops in and comments from time to time. I know its the off season, but a little feed back and kicking it around would be good. Like to get the old gang back together. We've increased our followers on Twitter, but its not led to comments on the website. Patience I guess. Hope to see you drop in at some point! Thanks, Caddy (Glenn) ......

Hey Caddy. I do drop by on occasion. If I post, my Disqus id is M at th ew Sy ke s (no sp ac es). It's been awhile since I've delved deep into my thoughts on the team. I think after so many years of draft busts, off-season suspensions and injuries, I am just waiting to get a few weeks into training camp. Heck, I think as soon as I could get half way through a mock-53, the deck would shuffle with yet another PED charge or an assault charge. Throw in the most mysterious case of drop-foot, and my eyes gloss over.

I'm headed over right now to read "Oxnard, Embrace The Process!". Great title, btw.

Edit: LOL, just a few paragraphs in, and your sentiments echo mine preceding. Back to the article...

Edit: Welp, you've identified all the questions. It's a swirl of uncertainty, largely based on investigations (you didn't mention the smoke surrounding Zeke), allegations, charges, PED's, and injuries. Same ol' same ol'. I do know one of dead horses analysts loved kicking this off-season was the potential for a Sophomore slump out of Dak. Such lazy group-think has been a large part of why this off-season has just not been fun. Oh well, here' to camp, and I will..."Embrace The Process!"

LG, that's you, Wow! I was talking with Cowboy1959 and he was getting worried about you, so its great to see you're still kicking around.

I think you might see my response to you there. As I said all of you are welcome to write your own topic. Took awhile to sit with my son to figure out how to add someone who can log in to Wordpress and write a story but not have access to everything there. Here's my email if you or M want to write your own story or topic ..... gpd300@mac.com (yes Mrich, that 300 is for the 2 300's I rolled back in the day)

It would be great to get the gang of four over there regularly to bring each persons view to a topic!

I understand frustrations with the team and drafts, etc, but since Will McClay is running the show, its night and day. Problem for me, was we really lacked a defense thru the Romo era and we went years w/o making it any better. Dak will have the same result unless they get a defense that can make key stops and be a viable threat for turnovers. These CB's & safety they drafted might be far better in that regard. Carr & Mo weren't getting them, so it was a problem.
