Romo options?
So what do you guys think will happen to Romo in the offseason?
If he stays with the team, he's probably the league's most expensive backup. I don't know if they'd be able to trade for him, simply because of his cap numbers.
Outright cutting him might be beneficial, but I don't know how that would affect the cap, either.
Thoughts?

Sorry MRICH, that I didn't see a notification on a post otherwise I'd have been happy to respond on this. My family has talked me into running a website about our Boys and that's kept me busy the last week or so. Should be up and running any time now, waiting on my son to complete it. I wrote a few posts tonight with up to the minute news and my two cents thrown in. Tony did a video today to thank the fans and say goodbye. Indicates something is seriously brewing and the trade (most likely) will be finalized in the next few days. They have to work out a contract for Tony before they move to the trade aspect.
Shame to lose the best QB on your roster, but the heir apparent is taking over and can't have a progress stopper. they can't

My son put the site up last night and it will be a work in progress in the days ahead, but I'd love for you all to come visit. Eventually, a comment section will go up and naturally, I'd hope all of you would help get some discussions going. Site is www.cowboysroundup.com

Re: Romo options?
Romo will be a Bronco. Having the Texans in the game should make it cheaper to have Denver and Dallas work out a sign and trade. The Cowboys are eating the cap one way or the other. Their motivation would be to release him as a post June 1st to split the cap hit, but that opens an all out bidding war and jacks up the going rate. So why would the Texans not be the trade suitor? I don't really know, and I admit I am analyzing on the fly, here. But, I'd say given what they just gave up to Cleveland, they have less trade budget left over, plus perhaps some buyers remorse on the huge cap hit.

Hey Caddy! I'd love to contribute to the new site when it's ready. PM me if you want, and I'll give you my email so you can contact me when it's ready.
As far as Romo, I think it would be better if the 'Boys just designated him a Jun 1 cut, and saved the $14 million.
Seems like the 'Boys can't get a bag of footballs for him right now.

I'm not sure about a trade anymore, lg.
From what I'm hearing, teams aren't willing to give up a bag of footballs for him right now.
As of this morning (March 11), the Cowboys have about $11 million in cap room.

Designating Romo a post June 1 cut gives them about $21.5 million to play with. After June 1, of course. A trade only brings that number to $15.6 million.

Re: Romo options?
Guessing a lot of posturing right now on the Romo situation. Who's going to blink first? Right on the 11M and remember they need about 5M for rookies via draft alone. Still pretty tight. Release of Romo doesn't help until June 1 on his savings for added cap space.

Re: Romo options?
Real tough to do LG! Everything I've heard is that if its an open competition then Romo wins that battle. When you tell the team, best man plays, then what do you do? Word has been and with not much change during the season that Dak looks average to poor in practices. Yet plays well to terrific on Sunday. So they really can't easily have Romo around looking like a seasoned pro and the heir apparent looking shaky out there. My two cents, I was pretty confident that Dak would get fooled just enough to cost them a game in the playoffs. Capers got him just enough and clock management by Garrett, put the final knife in the back.
They drafted Zeke to play with Romo and revitalize a 2014 replay. If you watched the one series Romo play against Philly, you almost thought it was like playing 7 on 7 or against air.
