Bleacher Report's Top Ten Plays in Cowboys History... Empty Re: Bleacher Report's Top Ten Plays in Cowboys History...

How is Staubach's final game (the pass to Hill) not there?

My personal favorite, because it was the first Cowboys game I watched with my first born, was the Aikman to Ismail bomb in OT in the season opener against the Redskins in `99. I had already resigned to the loss, as the Cowboys had not been able to move the ball at all for three quarters. My boy slept in my arms as I quietly watched them get dismantled through most of the game. That little infant woke up to my excitement on the tying TD pass. He was in my arms with amazement at my excitement at the end of the game. He convulsed with elation as I erupted in cheers when the second I saw Ismail streaking behind the safeties. He's been a Cowboys fan ever since.

Poor kid.

Didn't the Skins miss on the would-be game-winning FG, too? What a game!

I was at the game for the Romo scramble against the rams. It was when Romomania began. It was unbelievable. I think the crowd laughed more than cheered. It was that ridiculous of a play. What a promising career for a magician who was viewed as the savior. Everything seemed possible. Was that Seattle bobble that powerful? I guess so.

Emmit's record breaking run...I was there too. I had those tickets early in the season, and never guessed that would be the game. In the preceding weeks, as the barometer started to indicate our game would be the one, it was so exciting. But what was lost was the TD dive after the record to put the Cowboys ahead. The stadium was electric. I've been to playoff games, and have yet to experience anything like it. Chants of Emmitt, Emmitt rang on, and we all knew who was getting the ball. The collective elation when he scored was unbelievable. Of course, the game would be ruined on a B.S. defenseless receiver penalty against Woodsen which would sustain the game winning drive for the Seahawks. I don't even think the rule existed, officially. What's a safety to do?

Aikman to Harper. I relieve it often. Perhaps my greatest memory as a Cowboys fan. At the time, I thought we were on our worst drought ever, and on that play, the rain began to fall. The worst drought was over. If only...

Not sure, but the last 8 minutes of it are here:

BTW, that wasn't actually Roger's last game.  As you will remember, the Cowboys were unceremoniously dumped from the playoffs by the Super Bowl-bound Rams a week later, with his final pass going to his guard, Herb Scott.

Wow, was that J.J. Wilcox? Cliff sure whiffed that tackle on Riggins on that big run.

It's so nice to watch a game when the emotional experience isn't sterilized by the constant stoppage of play for reviews and over-officiating. This is what sports was meant to be. The ref sticks his hand up and its a TD. Done. On the Springs TD, we'd all have to sit around waiting for the officials to tell us if we could celebrate or not and by then the whole thing has started to fade. Cousin kissing if there ever was one, besides actually kissing your cousin.

Strange play call by the redskins to throw that screen/lateral on first down, needing to kill some clock. Garrett would be roasted!

What a play by Cole!! Can he play today?!?!?

Captain Comeback was on full display!

This is so cool to watch this again!! Thanks so much!!!

I had forgotten about the pass to the guard! Sometimes reality has no style! Though it frequently does have a sense of humor.

Right! Last regular season game, I should've said. And his last comeback and victory. Sigh.

And to split another hair, it was two weeks later Wink

You're welcome.  I figured you'd enjoy that. Probably my all-time favorite regular season game.

I've got a ton of old Cowboys games to share, which I'll be happy to do here on a whim or as a specific topic comes up in this forum. Just let me know what you're looking for, and if I have it I'll post it. I will probably send links to verified members via PM, since this site remains open to the general public, but we'll see how things develop.
